Applicants for the Ishan Uday Scholarship 2023 for the North Eastern Region (NER) are sought by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Government of India. 30 November 2021 is the deadline for submitting an application. In order to promote higher education in the North Eastern Region (NER), the University Grants Commission (UGC) has developed Ishan Uday, a special scholarship program.

• For a normal degree programme, the scholarship amount is Rs. 5400/- per month; for a technical/medical/professional/paramedical course, it’s Rs. 7800/- per month. The recipient student will receive the award via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Ishan Uday Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023

• To be eligible for the award, you must be a first-year undergraduate student.
• Residents of the North-Eastern region are required to apply. They must have finished the 12th grade at a North–Eastern Region-recognized school/college/university, such as CBSE, ICSE, or NIOS (National Institute for Open Schooling).
• A candidate must have been admitted to a UGC-approved college or university for a professional, general, or technical course. Scholarship benefits are available to all students, regardless of whether or not they have enrolled in the Integrated programme. Benefits are only provided to the first-degree course when taking a dual degree programme.
• The applicant’s family’s annual income should not be more than Rs. 4.5 lakhs.

Selection Procedure

• Every year, 10,000 (10,000) new scholarships will be given out.
• A population census will be used to determine the allocation of slots among the NER states (last).
• Vacancies in a given state will be distributed evenly to other states if there are no eligible candidates in that state.
• In accordance with Government of India guidelines, PwD (persons with disabilities) would be given preferential treatment.

• Visit the National Scholarship Portal website, which is listed in the “Important Link” portion of the page. Enter your information and press the green Continue button after reading through the instructions on NSP’s official website.
• You’ll redirect to a new page where you can complete the required information, check the captcha, and register by clicking the red Register button.
• Continue by clicking on the Continue button, which will bring up a screen with your Student Application ID.
• Once the login page has loaded, simply click the orange Login button and enter your User ID and Password (which will text to your registered mobile number).

• Finally, enter your contact information, upload your documents, and press the green Submit button.
• Following the above steps, you’ll see a page with all of the information you’ve entered, so click the Print option to save a copy of the application.

• The online application process will begin on September 20th, 2021.
• On November 30, 2021, the online application deadline will reach.
• 15 December 2021 is the final date for Defective Verification.
• The Institute Level Verification deadline is December 15th, 2021 at the earliest.
